Final Evaluation
This unit was very interesting and I enjoyed it because I was very familiar with "Blogger" before this unit came along, so finding my way around was quite easy. I enjoyed picking out colour schemes and changing the default settings to fit my taste. I am a very visual person therefore I enjoyed working on the visuals. The difficulty which I encountered was making a banner using photoshop. I found that hard because I have never used photoshop before but slowly I got better and I am very happy with my final banner. Blogging is a form of communication which is gaining in popularity and which potentially can attract a wide audience. The skills I learnt in this module are therefore critical in understanding the role of media in the 21st century. Media and communication are intrinsically linked therefore since I would like to forge a career in creative media, the skills learnt are surely to my advantage. It will also help me open doors by allowing me to have a space to post my work and enable it to be viewed by others.

Pre-production
Idea Generation:
The idea I came up with started off with 2 guys fighting over a girl at a park but it would have been too common so as a group we decided to change things up. It ended up with 3 guys fighting over one girl. The 3 guys were divided like this: 2 cool guys and the other the nerd. We wanted to give it a modern twist. Also the girl played as a princess, to portray Juliet and give that medivial feel. As we continued discussing the story started coming together along with the cast and costumes. For this production we decided to aim at a young audience since the book is based on a guitar.
Synopsis:
Three guys trying to impress a beautiful princess but who will she fall for? Whos skills are the greatest of them all?
Script:

Production Schedule:
Filming took place on Saturday 7th May 2011, from 9am till 3.00pm
Location Plans:
We chose to film at San Anton Gardens at Attard. Here are a few pictures:
Risk Assessment:
- The weather
- Uneven ground
- Stairs
- Heights
Those are practically the main risk assesments. There was always a camera assistant when handling with the equipment especially since we were filming on uneven ground and stairs. Someone could have easily fallen or slipped but noone did. Also the weather was on our side because it was sunny so there were no problems proctecting the equipment from rain.
Crew:
From left to right: Francesca Mercieca, Sephora Cutajar, Tamsin Pace Decesare and Rodianne Xuereb
Actors:
From left to right: "cool guy 1" played as David Grech Urpani, "the princess" played as "Dorianne Borg", "the nerd" played as Peter Petrov and Darren Thomas Bowd played as "Cool guy 2".

The Researcher
My role for the upcoming website is the Researcher.
As a researcher, I would support my team by finding the information.
I might be responsible for anything from researching factual information for documentaries, to finding out our target audience and small projects or ideas. Also develop and research new ideas.
The Researcher basically has to:

"An international publishing house is about to start a new advertising campaign via adverts broadcasted on diverse television stations. It's main aim is not to promote the actual publishing house but rather individual non-fiction books. They are organising a world-wide competition for the best 1 minute advert which must be 60 seconds in length, based on a non fiction book and must fall under the 'G' rating criteria"

Analysing TV Commercials
Pepsi Commercial
This advert is based on Celebrity Endorsment to sell Pepsi. From the scenery, to the extras, costumes and make up, it is giving off a gladiator feel. It is a closed ended advert. The storyline is basic and it is fun and interesting. The celebrities starred are Britney Spears, Beyonce Knowles, Pink and Enrique Iglesias. It begins with a beat everybody is familiar with so that already grabs the audience in. Britney, Beyonce and Pink are supposed to fight eachother but they change the rules and start singing then the audience gets involved and Enrique playing the part as an Emperor is accidently thrown into the pit and the Pepsi cans are given to all. At the end it shows a caption with Pepsi's logo and it's slogan. It is a great advert!

Making Banners using Photoshop
I started learning how to use photoshop recently. It was a bit complicated at first but I'm getting used to it slowly. At school we needed to make a banner for our blog. So I started fooling around with brushes and colours and I ended up with this kind of banner:
To be totally honest I am not impressed with it and the colours are not my style, including the type of text I used. Thankfully it was a just a first try. I wanted to share it with all of you and maybe get some opinions. I obviously didn't want that kind of banner on my blog so I decided to make another one, and I must say I really like this one!
Feel free to comment!
I will be posting more banners shortly!
